Jason and I have run several evangelism programs in Mozambique this year with our last trip encompassing five locations and five evangelism series. We flew from Australia to the second largest city in Mozambique, Beira. Once we arrived the work began and it was to be a very busy time. In fact the work began months earlier, as our Bible worker teams were stationed in various locations to prepare the ground work and prepare for the reaping campaigns we were to conduct. We travelled to Nhanunda, in fact the only way we could get to Nhanunda was on motorbikes, as the road was just a goat track with many large mud-holes to navigate, steep hills and several river crossings to make. We had a number of motorbikes travel in with us, carrying Bibles and other essentials that we needed. A number of the motorbikes had several boxes of Bibles on board and we had to be very carful crossing the rivers, as we were concerned that if the motorbikes fell under the water our Bibles would be ruined. Thankfully after four hours of riding we reached Nhanunda safely. This area is very remote and we were amazed at the reverence and dedication of these believers for the Word of God and for sharing their faith. These programs finished with 105 souls being baptised in a beautiful river, with much singing and rejoicing from the local church members. Each of the new converts received a Bible along with several boxes of Bibles given to the church, as over half of the members don’t have their own copy.
